SummerCollab specializes in empowering community-based agencies to execute high quality summer learning programs.  Through intentional interviewing, quality training and precise placement, our contractors are equipped to work with our partner sites to bring more choices and more chances to children in the state of Delaware during the summer months. The Program Dean works closely with the Camp Leader on site to ensure that behavior systems, SummerCollab curriculum and academic intervention are properly planned for and executed with fidelity during the summer months. As a Program Dean, major responsibilities include:

  • Manage and oversee SummerCollab operations at an assigned site
  • Foster professional development through goal-setting, observations and providing targeted feedback to enhance performance
  • Assure that routines and structures are in place to support quality programming
  • Ensures the vision, mission and goals set by the Camp Leader are carried through the summer months


SummerCollab seeks a dedicated, self-directed and innovative candidate for this position. The ideal candidate for this role has a positive, professional attitude and a demonstrated interest in supporting youth development. The Program Dean candidate is highly organized, flexible and adaptive to work in a fast-paced environment. He/she is able to create positive working relationships while maintaining effective and proactive communication strategies. Our ideal candidate has a background in education, specifically in grades K-5, and at least two years of leadership or coaching experience.  Demonstrated success with project or program management is preferred. Program Dean candidates are interested in growing their own leadership skills and supporting the development of team members.


March – June (approximately 20 hours)

  • Attend and actively participate in all relevant training sessions
  • Create, refine and organize daily systems that support high-quality programming
  • Develop rapport and cadence of communication with site-specific SummerCollab team members
  • Review SummerCollab curriculum to ensure deep understanding prior to summer
  • Form individualized schedules for SummerCollab team members
  • Other duties as assigned

June – August (approximately 30 hours/week)

  • Establish goal-oriented action plans with site-specific SummerCollab team members
  • Observe Collab Instructors and provide targeted, achievable feedback in the areas of instruction and behavior management weekly
  • Facilitate weekly meetings with onsite leadership to align on progress and areas of need
  • Work with SummerCollab Supply Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day supply management
  • Communicate consistently with the Program Coach to update on site progress
  • Attend and actively participate in network wide Program Dean meetings
  • Support camp development through consistent monitoring of site-specific goals
  • Other duties as assigned
