SummerCollab specializes in empowering community-based agencies to execute high quality summer learning programs.  Through intentional interviewing, quality training and precise placement, our contractors are equipped to work with our partner sites to bring more choices and more chances to children in the state of Delaware during the summer months. Two thirds of the achievement gap is attributable to summer learning inequity. With your help, we can Make Summer Smarter.


Program Coaches serve as ambassadors between SummerCollab and our partners, supporting Camp Leaders to develop high quality summer programming. As a Program Coach, major responsibilities include:

  • Work alongside site leadership to clarify objectives, assess areas of need and develop a strategy that will result in high quality summer programming
  • Serve as an accountability partner to help Camp Leaders create and reach goals relevant to staff training, site culture and programming
  • Support with culture transformation by using coaching techniques to help leaders improve their site’s performance
  • Establish structures and support implementation of systems with schedules, deadlines, and effective communications with the Camp Leader.


SummerCollab seeks  an earnest and thoughtful coach for this position. The ideal candidate for this role has at least 3 years of leadership, management or coaching experience and a demonstrated interest in positive youth outcomes. Program Coach candidates are highly organized, flexible and maintain effective and proactive communication strategies. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality are important because success in this role will hinge on the working relationship with Camp Leaders. Program Coach candidates will be able to prioritize effectively, and have a strong interest in managing and developing leaders.


November – June (approximately 30 hours/month)

  • Build and maintain a coaching relationship with assigned Camp Leaders
  • Develop culture profiles for each assigned site
  • Align each camp’s vision, mission and goals with an actionable plan to enhance summer programming
  • Support Camp Leaders in developing a comprehensive staff training plan
  • Onboard and track the performance of SummerCollab’s site-specific leadership team members
  • Support with recruitment and interviewing of SummerCollab staff members
  • Oversee operations management for your assigned sites
  • Other duties as assigned

June – August (approximately 25 hours/week)

  • Attend weekly Program Coach meetings
  • Oversee operations management for your assigned sites
  • Conduct weekly site visits to assigned sites, meet with and support site leadership, troubleshooting as needed
  • Assess your site(s) progress on targeted goals weekly through the SummerCollab rubric
  • Ensure successful execution of learning systems developed during pre-season planning
  • Complete end of summer 360 evaluation reports for each assigned site
  • Other duties as assigned
